How many stones in a gross?

What sizes are most common?

What colors are most common?

What supplies do I need to go with the rhinestones to make transfers and possibly templates?

I am about to do quite a few solid fill designs- what type of rhinestone would look good, adhere well  and still not break the bank.-

I work with Korean a ton as the prices are good  , they sparkle like crazy,, and wash up well,, I have not lost any of my rhinestones on any of my garments yet,, I have not had one Rhinestone Garment send back to me becuase a stone fell off,
I am careful what kind i import and did my homework, I also have great responses from the clients whom buy the Rhinestones from me to put on Garments,,,

When someone wants a higher end stone I use it,, and love it,,
but for a 5mm stone swarovski you can pay aroune 45-50 dollars per gross.

Korean is usually under $1.50 per gross, the more you buy the cheaper it gets,, 100 gross clear 3mm run $35.00
that makes it .31 cents per gross..
And you know filled designs can be thosands of stones,,

this is my opinion,,

the reason i am not crazy about chinease stones, and all are not like this,,
is the uneven glue does not do well in the templates and sometimes the stones dont even have glue on them, and the facets are not there, they look more like a rounded stone,,

I have seen some beautiful chinease stones but only once...
again my opinion

My question is could someone kinda give me an idea of the best selling colors of rhinestones. I know clear by far is the best, Id like to know maybe the top 5 so I can get my self a little stock going. I have clear now in all sizes, and would it be smart of me to just get the 10ss size at first or should I get some 16ss also. Thanks for the help.

Mike,
There are 2 ways of doing this,,

first 3mm-10ss are the most used in designs,,
When you have a very detailed design and need it to look really great go with 2mm-6ss

My most used colors or sold colors or rhinestones are

clear
Gold
Lemon
Black
Red
Blue
Green

I would do a assortment pack, and most that sell rhinestones either have a assortment pack of stones or studs , or will gladly ask your price range you want  and put one together for you,,,
Now,, if you only want one gross of each color ,
I will be honest and tell you that one gross does not cover most designs, most designs have 390-1000 stones.....

I will throw some examples up later for you so you can get a visual of stone count...
I would suggest getting at least 5 gross of each color....
so you have plenty to work with,,

Great information for us nub's. I am soaking up all I can learn.

Thank you so much MMM. I am so itching to try this and so not setup yet with the needed items to do so. Of course there is the little problem of working 60 hours a week at the other job. My boss says don't gripe you only work 12 hours a day -- half days! I listen to all of you and think, I do not see how you do all you do, and you seem to spend twice as much time a day with all your work as this dude.

I know, just shut up and do it. You all are wonderful as always
