Hi Sandy Jo,

Since you are the one person on the boards that has had her hands on multiple rhinestone programs, I'm hoping you can answer a question for me.
Currently I'm using Roland R-Wear Studio. It's a decent program and I can manage quite well with it. But I've seen and heard what other programs can do (zebra print, for example!) and while I know I can duplicate that in R-Wear, I'm thinking I'm working harder not smarter.

My biggest problem is the machines I have. I have the GX-24 vinyl cutter and the Roland EGX-350 engraver.
I really really really like engraving my templates. The sturdy mdf type material allows the stones to be placed so much closer together than cutting on a vinyl cutter. Plus the GX-24 doesn't cut sandblast material well at all.

Do you know if there is a way to use a designing program that is more user friendly and has more functionality but still be able to "cut" (engrave) the template on the Roland engraver?

Thanks for any help!

Julie...I am not Sandy  Jo but have just about the same programs as she does plus I do have the Roland GX350 with R-Wear. R wear is somewhat limiting so I use it mostly for the SFEdit feature and  designs often run larger than 9x12. I am enroute to ISS Long Beach but think you can bring in a design in eps format and then cut, have you tried that. If no one else has the program and answer, I will do check on Monday and let you inow

Thanks Charles! I couldn't remember who it was that had R-Wear and sure enough it's you!  Grin
I'd so appreciate you checking to see if a design created in another program can be cut on the EGX-350. That would make my day! Meanwhile, I'll see if I can download a trial version of a program and try it myself.

Thanks a bunch!!!

Julie
Not sure if you are still around or not,
You can create in many different programs and send to others to cut,,

example, winpcsign2012 you can export out as a eps file then take import it in rwear and as  a eps and send to your laser cutter,,,,
I sure hope that helps.

Sorry Julie...missed your question...yes...you can import designs in R Wear...My EGX350 just sits on the desk...I would use it as a doorstop but the damn thing is too heavy to lift alone!

SJ...No the EGX350 is not a laser....it uses blades/cutter to cut into hard plastic  here is a link to a vendor with a photo

Thanks for the replies! Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I ended up with Oobling Pro. I am still learning it, but loving it! I tried a demo of WinPCSign but while everyone is hot and heavy over it, I just couldn't get to feeling comfortable using it.
I've also fallen in love with the ease of Sticky Flock!!
I know it's against the norm, but I love working with SS6 stones and have a bit of an issue using SF to cut my designs as I really like to make them with the stones close together. But it's working and I'm getting to the point of cutting the SF with the stones close together.

Now my biggest issue is taking some existing designs from RWear and getting them into Oobling to modify them and/or cut using SF. RWear allows separating colors when sending to the engraver, but not when sending to the vinyl cutter.  Angry

Not sure why you cannot just send you eps file from rwear to oobling and then send to the cutter or laser, keep color seperation in tact,

Do you have rwear? Would you know how to do this?

I've only seen the option to export as a bmp file and the rwear saves as a .rst format. So no .eps that I can find!

Weird...I just opened RWear Studio, opened an existing file then went to File....Export and only see options for BMP Export or Clipboard.

Is that how you're doing it or is there another way I'm not seeing?

Thanks again for checking!

I am not at the office until tomorrow and will double check but I seem to recall that there is very limited export from Corel. One of the reasons I rarely use R wear
