OK...so there's no embroidery, or screen printing, or vinyl on this shirt, but I wanted to show it off anyhow.  Tongue

The body of the shirt is made from a super soft doe skin ultra-suede...the yoke was cut on the bias of a textured polyester plaid. The long sleeve (it's shown rolled here) has an extra wide cuff that completes the retro western look of the shirt.

Do you realize what you did is becoming a lost art!  Our children don't learn to sew or create in school any longer.  I took 4-H and was in it about 5 years sewing, I learned so much that I still practice today.  My grandchildren only know a little sewing.   they are to busy witht he telephones, texting etc.  Now they go down to the store and buy cheap items that fall apart when they are first washed.  So sad!  We need to go back to life skills in school to go along with math, science and History.  Job well done!

If I were making that shirt for someone in the ultrasuede, I would charge about $200 for it...if I were using a shirting fabric (a cotton or rayon blend) I would charge around $125.

So much depends on the fabric, and this particular shirt is a little more time intensive than the plain style I make (pictured below), which I price at around $100.

The cowboy shirt is 100% cotton...the brown shirt is some kind of blend (that fabric was in a box of vintage fabrics I was given).

Thanks everybody! Sewing is what I really love to do.

I just made a pair of fleece gloves...suprisingly easy (if you do it right the first time, which I didn't). This is exciting to me because I have a home market embroidery machine, so I can only do flat goods...if I make the gloves myself, then I can embroider before putting the glove together. I'll post a video tutorial on my blog in the next few days...I'll keep you posted.

AWESOME!!

When you start making some fantastic leather work gloves, let me know.  My husband cannot find gloves to fit.
