The Saturday after Thanksgiving is Nationaly Small Business Day. As a merchants association, we advertise these types of things. We basically do the last Saturday of the month as a special sale day anyway so it just works out for us.

Are you doing anything for this day?

Since I don't have a store front, I won't be doing anything special...but I will shop my local merchants here in town.

Our indie stores have been suffering greatly at the hands of the county, who have had the main street torn up for months now for a downtown "beautification" project. The county's big answer to the businesses losses? They gave them some marketing $...fat lot of good that does them if you can't get into their parking lot!

The county commission board member for our district actually just recently said "I didn't realize the impact the project was having on business"....really? Maybe you ought to shop in your district...or even just drive through it now and again. What a loser!

I've been seeing a lot about this on Facebook,  but not a ton in my local community.  I did get a book of gift ideas from our state, and I'm going to check some of those out.

we use twitter for our announcements. even though we dont have much of a following twitter tweets are indexed by the search engines.

american express is one of the sponsors of national small business day but we have not been to their website to register. i don't want calls from them for a credit card.
