15X15 is the smallest that I would go for t-shirts. Also watch Craigslist for deals on name brand presses. That is where mine have come from.

I have a 16 x 16 and have done up to 3X without trouble.  But...it all depends on the size of the artwork you want to use.  You can press any size shirt but you are limited by the size of your press how big the art can be.  I have also seen some posts where people were successful doing larger prints by pressing in sections - haven't tried this yet so I can't give you any info on doing it this way, just more time consuming for sure.

Not sure what lou has here ,
but I got mine from a member here Roger at heatpressvinyl.com

Auto open, magnetic close,,  with sliding tray,  I purchased the 16x24 i think it is,,  Microtec,,

I also know he has other ones smaller too but i needed this big one as all my requests for designs seem to be getting larger..

And i needed it for dye sub too.

Lou carries the big teflon sheets for these monsters, and i picked up the laser gun to test my presses too,  he had it on sale, not sure if it still is, but i love that lil thing
I am now carrying the slide out units that Roger and Pro World sells. We now represent 3 brands and I can fit any budget.

I have 2 of these units,, Big red and big blue, (Vesta)

I love big blue the most,, it heats up fast and love the magnetic close and auto open, the slide out tray is amazing to dress my bottom plate,,

Lou this is why I needed the larger teflon sheets.

Love this press
