Conde  Paropy and others have totally miss judged the power of advertising new products. This new laser printer is a prime example. I just discovered the release in tiny print on a secondary page in Conde's web site. AND THE PUT THE DAMN THING ON SALE AT $360 OFF, good until 11/04..........

If you believe HALF of what this thing will do, I personally can save hundreds if not thousands of dollars in paper, ink and labor.

It is a wide format laser printer designed from the ground up by OKIData in conjunction with Conde, Joto and Neena to print on transfer paper without the usual toner/fuser jams and issues. This eliminates the issue of polymer shadow prevalent in ink jet printers and allows the imprinting of hard goods here to fore only printable via a special coating on the product. IT WILL NOT ELIMINATE SUBLIMATION PRINTING, IT WILL OPEN NEW MARKETS.

I have tried all of the so called processes to print on uncoated mugs etc.......... a total joke.. It wasn't all the papers fault, the majority of the blame fell on the printer and the process to fuse the ink on the coated paper.

If I can get more details, I'll pass them along.

DO you think the washability of shirts done with the laser transfers has been improved?
Do you think mugs done with this printer will be dishwasher safe?

The few "CL Trim Free" sheets I was able to force thru the C6150 are excellent with no poly shadow and great wear on the washing.

I don't blame the paper totally, I blame the fact that they can't match the paper to the printers fusing system on a consistent basis. That is why I am so excited about a printer made by a known manufacturer that was designed specifically for the heat transfer paper.

No, the laser mugs will not currently be dishwasher safe....... with out the sub coating and Sub ink fusion, they will hand wash for a while and begin to fade.

I am working on it with vigor. The complete elimination of heat transfer ink and paper with the associated hassle, the elimination of 75% of my silk screen prep and the addition of several methods of imaging on dark garments on a CONSISTENT basis makes it very attractive.
Add to that a way to make decorator mugs and other objects that would be useable and more permanent than decals adds to the flavor. Include anything that will fit under the press that does not have to be coated........ opens lots of interesting possibilities.

The key is the consistent printing on the paper. I do NOT have it with my current printer. It has served me well for a long time in other printing. I needed to replace it with one that has a larger format...... bingo this one comes along and adds to the profitability of my business.

I am waiting on a call back from Conde to get the price per toner cart.

It would have to be enormous not to qualify the expense saving hundreds of hours over the life of the printer. With an current average use of 8,000 pages at $0.41 per page.

Every single graphic I print with heat transfer ink using any paper I have tested, has to be hand cut outlining the image or else I have a massive ugly poly shadow on pastel or Ash shirts. That is totally unacceptable.

From what I'm reading, "it ain't there yet"  David from Conde appears to have a handle on it and might be able to shed some light

The white toner is $455........... The printer is $7500.

The specs are good and it is also made by OKI but I would have to weigh the economics of that system VS the $6.000 vinyl printer.

Thanks for introducing this additional printer.

Let's see where the road leads........ you bring the beer.
