Would not surprise me if artainium goes away.  It is harder to work with than sublijet...or at least it was for me. I am sure since SW bought them in 2003 or so, it has not been heavy seller.  Same with Rotech which was in USA and pulled back to Europe, but was bought by SW in 2005.

It is my understanding that the patent that SW has is not for the ink, but for the delivery system on small format desktop printers...that why SW does not control inks for the large format units

I was told by a reputable source that "Artainium is just about finished."  Anyone know what SG is up to?

What is the delivery system? I am thinking print heads, but i am most likely wrong.

If you are a customer of Richard's, you might give him a call and see what he recommends.  I'd be happy to make you a deal on a new-in-box Ricoh 3300 with inks & a bypass tray if you decide to take the Sawgrass path.  Google reveals a couple of foreign ink options.  I've purchased some transfers from forum members.
