I don't know how many out there use this kind of service but I have been attending several on line training events. I used them in the past but also use them on and off again to keep the information current in my noggin.

I have really come to like the Corel training from TGN, they also have a Webinar coming up very soon on Rinestoning.... I believe its today the 22nd and there is still time to sign up for those interested. Here is the web link to preview and sign up for them.

I would love to start an on line training program. One thing I would like to do is teach high school students how to be an entrepreneur. So many kids expecting to go out and get a job after school but the facts are that so few will. Hopefully manywill go to collage. The keyword is hopefully. So many fresh brains out there. So many ideas that need motivation.

I agree with Lou in that high school kids today won't have much in the way of jobs to get when out of school.....however I'm not convinced that going to college will make their chances very much better.  It's no longer a guarantee you will get a job just because you have a college education.  I know of too many who have went to college and are employed at jobs that do not require a higher education.  Unfortunate, but the way things are anymore in the current society.

Giving those with the ambition to start their own business the education needed to do it will not only ensure the new business owners ability to survive, but will also give others a chance at a job working for the new business.  Plus it might help those of us who have been in business for awhile to better our own businesses as well!

I believe this is what will bring America back, not all the government bailouts, programs, jobs bills, etc. that are being touted by our government today.  Both parties need a reality check and American businesses need to stand up and get this country back on track.  Unfortunately too many businesses will not help another as they are afraid they will be ran out of business by the new guys.  And to a certain degree they will....It's a vicious cycle.  But ALL businesses need to help each other if we want America to once again be the Industrial nation of the world.

Good idea Lou.  I for one hope you can help the young people get motivated to start a business and follow their dreams.

I agree Lou and Craig!  Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I sure wish I could find something like that for my daughter. She cannot find a job at all. She does sell vectors at Istock and several other venues, but it's not enough to support herself...not at all. She is looking for something that she can do herself.

Businesses helping other businesses is not relevant.....The answer is to stop importing oil and manufactured items....Period....

How is businesses helping each other not relevant?  By collectively coming together and starting to fight for the right of small business to have the ability to compete in this global economy we might....and I say might... be able to survive.  We will not be able to stop importing manufactured items until businesses of all sizes are given the ability to once again be able to afford to have their products manufactered in the States at the same rates as they can overseas.  Until this changes you will continue to see small and large business struggle.  It's unfortunate, but the cold hard facts.

As for not importing oil....I agree 100%.  But the fact of the matter is the environmentalist will not let more drilling happen here in the United States....so that too is a mute point.  As for alternative fuels and such....I'm all for it if it will actually work.  Stuff like wind turbines will work in some areas but not in others....so in some places you are still stuck with coal, oil, etc. to generate power.  It's the same for stuff like electric cars, etc.  They work great for some, but not all situations people face on a daily basis.  So, some works, some don't.  A lot depends on the region you live in as to if it will work or not.  If it does...I'm all for it.  If not, continue with what does.

So, that leaves only 1 opportunity for change....businesses coming together and helping each other for the betterment of all business.  I feel this is the only way we will survive.  By bartering, discounts between businesses, etc. we may be able to survive in this global economy.  But only if we ban together instead of just trying to look out only for ourselves.

This is why I support things like what Lou has stated, business people helping other business entrepenuers succeed by giving them the training they need to succeed.  This will help all of us in the long run.

JMHO for what it's worth...which ain't much in the current economy.

Sure you can work together and form a collective but that will do nothing to change the facts....Like it or not, the cost of manufacturing in the US will always be higher than other places in the world....So until US consumers are willing to the pay the price, manufacturing will be done off shore....And that is where the jobs will be....

As far as oil.....Until folks are willing to do without and make huge sacrifices nothing will change......If you just cut consumption 10%, the price of gas would drop....Imagine what would happen if you cut consumption 20%...

Let's keep this about the subject. It is leaning into politics. I am trying to get my concept into perspective. Today I bought a new web site "another Road USA" I truly believe we need to teach our students that there is just that. Another Road. Many students feel lost. Either they don't have the grades to get into a good college and the prospects of a job after they graduate from high school is not too promising. Even your fast food places are hiring older people. Many of you don't know my job history but I have been involved in management positions of training in retail and restating operations. One job was with Marriotts great America in Santa Clara ca. I supervised 28 food facilities. The point here is I had 900 high school and collage students working for me. I saw so many bright kids. I loved it. They are out there. Guidance in something more then what they feel is waiting for them is badly needed. Kids have ideas. Where do they go? I believe a class is needed in entrepreneurship. We need to show them there is Another road.

Lou, I applaud you and wish you luck.  Anyone willing to invest in this generation has my prayers.  They are a tough bunch to motivate, but our country will not rebound unless motivation occurs.  Hard work & pinching pennies followed by a little pride in a job well done - we need much more of that.

Lou and Craig I applaud you. As everyone here knows because of his bragging father (me) Grin Grin I have a 21 year old entrepreneur. I always wished when I was young someone would have taken me under there wing and showed me the way. When Michael wanted to start his first business at age twelve mother and I stood behind him and for four years he sold about a thousand dollars a week in candle sales. Since then he has been on a quest to conquer the world. He is know 21 and owns three successful businesses and growing daily. He graduated High school with honors and did a 2 year degree in business at Marshall university. Yes we all need to help train the children!!!!!! Schools are so big on the 4 R's who teaches them real life? I would love to see a good entrepreneurial program in every school in the USA. They would learn way more than English class. Enough of my rant but a subject so dear to my heart.

I found several organizations that actually do what I was planning. Well funded. They have chapters around the country. Later I will post their name not near where I stored info. They have nearest group in San Jose. They take volunteers but nothing out this way. Will look into it and see if I can change that. Lou

I believe online training is the future,  I have used them in the past.

But i also do One on one Rhinestone software /design sessions with Clients and or Trouble shooting sessions.

It is so much better to be interactive than them then a email back and forth.

I think this really is the future of Education.

I can make all the vidoes anyone wants to see but to go into a session one on one is by far a amazing thing we can do,.

keep me posted lou on what you plan, as well,
