I have a 1 color, 2 side screen print tee job coming up. My Yudu is fine for small runs, but this upcoming job is 144 shirts. I'm thinking that a single color press would be more cost effective than plastisol transfers.

I'm looking at the One Color Silver Press at Ryonet for $168:

And I'm also looking at the 1 color press at Dick Blick:

I see what the differences are between the two presses, but what I don't know is how important are those differences for one color jobs. Opinions please.

If your budget demands a small investment I suggest this one from Ryonet.

http://www.silkscreeningsupplies.com/store/799934/product/HOBBYKITPLUS

It has all the chemicals that you will need for Plastisol printing. Or if you want to stay with the water based chemistry, get the single station

http://www.silkscreeningsupplies.com/product/lg1x1

However, if this is to be a production shop and you have the money, get the Ryonet TWO COLOR. You can upgrade this press to a four head.

I would strongly urge you to find the extra money for this press.
I started with this and expanded it to a four station. It is a great press and a good investment, if you have a potential market for your work.

Thanks, Ken. I hear you about the 2 color press...would love to have me one of those, BUT...aside from the money, my bigger problem is space. I work out of my little 1 bedroom home, and between the sewing/embroidery studio taking up half my living room, and the music studio taking most of the garage, there just isn't any room for any kind of set-up other than a station that I can "tuck away" when I'm not using it.

I checked out the price of plastisol transfers for this job first...then I got the bright idea about getting a press...if I go with the single station Ryonet, I'll still increase my profit by about $200 over using transfers. I'm leaning toward that Ryonet single press...thanks so much for your input.

I understand........... if you have any questions I'll help all I can and we have a great screen printer "knifemaker" here as well.

The tabletop unit will serve your needs and you have all the chemicals to get started right away.
