I own the Laser Point 2400 and it has given me excellent service. It is used to trim my transfer paper for dark garments and small vinyl projects such as window decals etc. I drive it with Flexi 8.6 from a Corel based graphic. ken and the staff at USCutters have been always ready to answer my newbie questions.
Best of luck in your new venture.

yes you can cut vectors with signblazer or they may be packaging the cutter with signcut.

I have the 24" Laserpoint and love it.  I use inkscape to get my graphics ready, then cut it in SignBlazer, which is free with the purchase of the cutter.  I do text directly in SB.  I bought mine from the site and got the stand, also.  I wanted the longer warranty.  I haven't had any trouble with it at all, except operator error, because there is a slight learning curve.  My nephew lives with me and uses it as much or more than I do.  I made him learn it all, then he taught me.  I can do everything now.  We do wall art, decals and vinyl for our t-shirts.

Another option if you use MS Windows on your PC would be to get a cheap cutter and then purchase the Flexi Starter w/Contour cutting. I have heard (and emailed) with someone that is doing this exact thing with his P-Cut. The Flexi was purchased off of EBay. Make sure you get the one for $125.00 (I think that was the price) and that it states contour cutting as there are two versions and the one without is a little cheaper.

Well you can ask Bill but I would advise a craftrobo if all you are doing is transfers,,, its the easy to work with and Bill does some pretty good sized vinyl cuts with his little craftrobo,, its less than $300

If you are not doing anything larger than 8.5 x 11 and you just want a simple little machine to start the Craft Robo by Graphtec can't be beat. I use mine to cut vinyl for shirts and signs, and I cut my opaque transfers with it. Software comes with it, you do not need to convert to vector the software coverts to outline for you. At some point I am going to get a larger cutter, but for the past 8 month's or so this little thing has worked fantastic.  I think you can find them now for under 250.00.

FYI - Actually, you're limited to 8 1/2" width, but you're not limited to 11" in length. For example, if I need names for the back of a jersey, and I want them 12" wide, I cut a 9" wide piece off a roll of 19" vinyl, and rotate the name. Yep...I do alot more with my little CraftRobo than one would initially think could be done.

Absolutely correct. I have done 8.5" letters 3 feet long on sign vinyl. But for contour cutting it is 8.5X11

I know the Roland GX24 can cut out the negative space but not sure about the craftrobo...if it could that would be a dynamite little cutter...If someone knows...post the results

Yes it can cut out the negative space. Sorry I didn't answer sooner. The software that comes with it is pretty unique for doing just that very easily. I have to make a tutorial video for gprockhill that I promised her several days ago when I finally find the time I will post it so everyone can see how it works.

By the way you need to pm heatpressvinyl and discuss his Puma III and the Craft Robo, he was going to get me mine reasonably until I cheated and negotiated up some free stuff with mine that made it cheaper. But Roger has some good deals and because it isn't on his site doesn't mean he can't get it to you for a good price.
