Just wondered if anyone was using the Google +1 button on their site yet.  We haven't added it because I'm still not sure what I think about it.

On one hand,  yay for customers being able to promote and recommend things.  On the other hand,  are we being pushed into entering a social network without being told that's what's happening?

Here's more info about the Google +1 button:  http://www.google.com/+1/button/

Here's an article about some of the (perhaps) unintended consequences of that button - http://outspokenmedia.com/seo/google-social-network/

I don't use it and probably will not. I am getting a bit uneasy about the large corporations...read that google, oracle, microsoft, yahoo etc...they are just giving me more than I want, need or will use

on one hand it would be good to promote my business, but on the other hand do i really trust Google?

I try not to even use Goggle search anymore, they store every search you have ever made....

So i am leery about having to join the Google social network, just so they can mine for more data.

So to answer the question - I do not think we will be using the Google +1

No problem for me....But I would not have a problem if they embedded a chip in my arm so I could be scanned in the bank or grocery store or when I cross the border....Anything so I do not have to "piss" my life away in lines....

The jury is still out for us on this.  I want to wait and see how many people actually use it.  Google has tried this sort of thing before, remember Google Buzz,  and it hasn't gone anywhere.

It will be interesting to see what happens with it though.

I'm with you, Uncle...Google has billed me for click campaigns that had been cancelled for a year. I tend to shy away from anything with "Google" on it.
