Hi!

Just trying to set up Autoprint to run a regular test print off to stop my printer/ink clogging.  I've downloaded the s/w OK, and as far as I can tell, installed it OK (it creates a suitable looking entry in my Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks).  The trouble is, at the appointed time, nothing actually runs - although the status on the Scheduled Task does change to display "running".

While using Autoprint to set up the task, there is an option along the lines of 'Click on "Run Now!" to check that things are set up', it even and asks you to make sure that there is a blank sheet of paper in the printer before pressing the button.

So, I press the button, and there is a Windows noise, just the standard type sound you get when there is a problem pressing a Windows button - unfortunately, that is all that happens, nothing is displayed, or highlighted and there are no error messages.

Anybody know what I am missing or doing wrong?

I assume you are trying to use the program from MIS. I have never been able to make the program work.

I purchased an auto print from Conde. It only prints nozzle checks, but that gives me an indicator of absent heads. Noting empty lines, I print the MULTIPLE COLOR PURGE TEST PATTERN at the highest paper quality and best photo. That really pumps some ink, but less than a head cleaning. If I note specific colors still not completely firing (any lines in that color) I load that specific color JPG and repeat the print at 8 x 11 with the same high density settings. This process eliminates the waste of ink by head cleanings of colors that are printing properly.
Most of the time the multicolor print "wakes up" any heads that are not completely charged with ink.

I always make it a habit of "topping off" the ink in my carts EVERY Monday and Wednesday. Remember, the printer is stupid. It will tell you you are out of ink when you are not AND it will let you run a cart dry....... something you do NOT want to do.

You will soon have the printer tell you a cart is empty. If you understand the easy procedure to fool the printer into resetting that color, great. If not let me know and I'll walk you through it.

I just got it working, thanks to info from http://churchillphotographer.blogspot.com/2008/04/setting-up-and-trouble-shooting-mis.html

Basically, the user you choose to use has to have Administrator rights and a password set up in their Windows user account.  I don't use a password as there is only me uses the PC.  Added in the passwrod, and it worked!  I might go on holiday now.
