Often people have something great to sell to customers. They know they have a great product. But sometimes it takes more then a great product it takes a human element as well. We have all witnessed this recently with a person trying to sell a product by pretending to be someone else and giving great accolades for what was supposed to be another person product. Now the product may have been the best out there. But the person that was selling the product was not handling his marketing campaign correctly. He used a devious means to sell his product. He was caught. Now he has a bad reputation but his product may be the best and he ruined future sales at least from many of us. When you are in business you need to show your customers that the product may be what they need but you also need to show them that the person they are dealing with is also one they respect. We have many companies here on this forum that have earned your respect. Ed from Pro world, the people at Coastal. Roger and I both try very hard to take care of our customers. I could go on. So remember you are not just selling a product but you are selling yourself. Lou

Very good point Lou.

It's very tempting sometimes to take the fast way,  make up a second i.d. on a forum,  create testimonials that aren't really testimonials,  that sort of thing, but that stuff never works.

The only way to build a good reputation is to put in the time and effort.  If you continually do what you say you will do you will find that your customers trust you and are loyal.

Lou,

Great write up,, I see this alot,, and you are right it discredits the company in my eyes,

It is usually a company or persons who wants to excel their sales fast and has a backup, stating how great the item is.

Now if that persons product is great why not wait and let people toots its horn as it is used and tested out.

Again i see this alot.

You will see me toot horns of good products because I buy them , not get them for free,,,,, I test them, and if it is a good thing I will tell anyone i know so they have the ability to purchase if they desire.
It is just my opinon and that is all.

And you are right the product could be wonderful,, but when someone does this to me it is like a car salesman I run.
