Digital Arts Solution has just announced that they have a new software package for rhinestone designs/vinyl cutting. It is called StoneCut Pro    It is supposed to have some really enhanced features. As we know they were the first...that I know of....to use a vinyl cutter in rhinestones and the initial program was around $1200 or so..software only..This program is touted to be more robust and more features than SmartCut Pro 2. There will be a webinar next week to launch the program. In reading the release notes, DAS indicates some sort of trade in program for other software programs

I modified my post as the price I listed was not a published price. I think that was the price for those who had the rhinestone system from DAS already. If you do not own the software..it will be pricey..Best to call DAS for firm information

did anyone else watch the webinar...The new software..totally redesigned..lots of new stuff...too much to mention but a few things stick out
1)you can upsize or downsize an image you have blinged without losing the size of the stone
2) you can bling a photograph
3) there are about 3 hours or more of videos...about 35 I think
4) the outline and fill dialogs has been drastically improved
5) I think it will automatically find all files on your computer that can be stoned

I will think of more later..I just did a bunch of shirts, a dtg on dark and a couple of osama prints request by some walk ins and my mind is mush now

I was there Charles,

The weld features were outstanding , there is also a new tool, cant remember the name, i will call it the collision tool,,

where if a stone will collide it will show in red,, for error, and you can go in and delete any stone errors with a click of one button..

I also was impressed with the its ability to adust a space if a collision would happen, too,, so it might adust the space slightly,, between a few stones so it looked as if all were spaced the same,, and they were not,, to fit them all in.

It ran 45 min over when i had to head out and get back to work, so i could not be there for the questions and answers,,,,

This is a stand alone software,, you do not have to have corel, to run it, or any  other program,, as i understand,,  and i asked a question in the seminar about the drivers,, and cutters and who ever answered said,  almost all cutters will work with this program,,

Prices were not talked about however i got jist that Das customers will be able to purchase at a lower price,, but again, it was not said what the price would be.

I asked if it ran on a dongle and the answer I got was yes with the dongle I already have with SmartCut Pro. I found the docker with the options and it's similarity to Photoshop a plus. (Just click on the eye to turn off a color for example) I liked that you could set over cut and multiple passes in the software a nice addition. I didn't call, as I knew they would be swamped. Craig said there were about 500 people at the webinar. That's all I remember , but I took notes that I will need to review to see if there is anything else of note.

I thought the ability to take a design and shrink or enlarge and not loose the stone size was amazing,, that is the first software i saw do that,,,,,

Yeah, it is slick software. And the new one does not overwrite the old. It is separate.

I thought the ability to set costs and track inventory by stone size and color at your own preferences was neat.

Das and winpc are my favorite,, and one of the reasons is they both stay up to what our needs are and exceed them, all the time.

I spent an hour and half on the phone with a guy from DAS yesterday. because my son won one of their graphic volumes i assume that prompted the call.
i was totally amazed by this program. even at the low end its a 999. and that includes 2 volumes of graphic.
reading some old post it seems like only good things have been written about DAS
i might buy it, but probably not til the end of the year.

I'm going to get it, (around December) just not sure which volume to pick for what i do.
i don't think i could go wrong with any of them, but don't want something that i will never use.
my cutter came yesterday (GSS expert 24lx) i opened the box and just walked away from it! LOL! that thing is HUGE! i have to totally redesign my sewing room to make this work.
