I am doing a wall decal where there is quite a bit of white space.  Usually I fill the white space with odds and ends (Easter eggs right now) and cut my design.  I usually just cut the extra stuff out and do not worry that the backing paper is cut around the main design.  But in this case I want to leave the backing paper intact because I need to add a 2nd colour and use up some of the white space....What is the best way to remove the extra designs?

Just weed the white space completely, leaving the "bonus" designs.  Then take smaller pieces of transfer tape and only remove the extra designs.  Put them on some leftover backing material from something else for storage.  You could temporarily tape some wax paper or something as a mask over the larger good design so you don't accidentally pull any of that up.
It always kills me when I see that extra vinyl go to waste.  Usually it's not worth saving, but sometimes that negative space is pretty big, especially on 2 color designs.

In this case the white space on the primary colour is just over 50% of the piece...On the 2nd colour it might be more....

And thanks for the tip.....That will work as soon as I save up enough backing paper...
