Grin Grin  Well, being that at work I have been using Corel Draw X3 for quite some time and I am getting things ready for my wife and I to begin doing some sub printing/transfers as a beginning sideline, I decided to buy a version of Corel Draw.

Checking the availability of X3 I found that most were torrent download versions, to me not something I want to even have on my computer. I checked X5 and with upcoming purchases I could not afford it at this time. Well X4 is out there and it appears that if you look hard enough you can find a good deal IMO. I picked up a Full Version, not Student/Educational or an upgrade. Full version with 2 day delivery only 170. Personally I cannot complain.....

I also have Corel Draw X3 Unleashed, Great Training Program, many videos and the book. Highly Recommend it to anyone who uses Corel Draw.

Should be here Monday!!!  Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Flint,

If you would keep me informed as to the validity of the suppliers claim and their web site I would really appreciate it. You can PM me if you don't want to publish it.

Tom at Advanced has some very good Corel tutorials as well.

He has a multi disk tutorial pack that is great for less than $50.

Once I get the software I will post what I get and the website for all. My bust on the price, I just noticed I put 170 I wanted to put 180 as the software was actually 179.92 with free standard shipping. I elected for the shipping upgrade so did not include that cost as that was my decision. Still over 250 off retail.  Smiley

Smiley Received software on Tuesday, installed up and running. Full version no restrictions other than normal. Found in the license agreement that the software may be installed on a desktop and mobile/laptop with the following restrictions that the program cannot be loaded into one of the computers RAM at any given time. I don't believe that I have seen this stipulation before or maybe I overlooked it.

Anyway, very happy with the product, purchase and would recommend to anyone. I don't see any bumps or glitches in this complete version.

Here is link to site, actual providing company for the product was Softwaremedia.com with a 45 day return as long as the product has not been registered/activated. Buy.com is the site I found it on.

4.5 out of a 5, Highly Recommend to all.  Bob K.  Smiley Smiley

Have you tried to download upgrades?....That is usually where any issues with licence #s come up...

Will be doing the patches etc this evening but after registration with Corel I had no problems with the linked extras provided if you registered your product. I got @ 8.5 GB of extra clip art from Corel and some hi res photos from another site.

I will let you know how my patches and upgrades go this evening.  Cool

Thanks.....

This is also a cheap way to get to X5 as it is only another 150.00 or so for the X5 upgrade...

Tongue Tongue Well after a bit of quaking in my boots I am ready to give a full report.  As previously noted X4 was purchased through Buy.com from Softwaremedia.com $179.92 standard shipping free.  Ordered on Friday evening, stated 1-2 days to fill order and expedited shipping added 12.00. I actually received the product on the 15th while at work.

I got home last night and after dinner opened package, first question entered my mind as it came in a white box. Huh Huh Not what was shown. White to me has always been an OEM product with no tech support or updates. Well I installed it and everything ran superb until I went to install the SP2 Upgrade. Got a window stating that the "Upgrade program" could not be installed. This got me worried so I worked all the programs and tested the areas that were upgraded by SP2 and everything worked as it should.

I contacted Softwaremedia.com tech support and spoke with Adam, I explained what was happening and my concerns about the packaging, he gave me the Corel Customer Service # as he did not know what he could do as the product was a Full Version, not OEM and Not Educational. Adam told me to call them and wanted me to call him back once I found out what the problem was and that they would do what ever they could to make sure that I was satisfied with my purchase.

I contacted Corel and explained my situation, Eric took all my information and verified my Serial # and data with my registration information. He then transferred me to the pay as you go tech support as they were available without a wait, he stayed on the line and made sure that I would not be charged. Tech Support verified my #s after hearing what I was conserned about and told me that I had a complete full upgraded version and that is why SP2 would not install. The version sent to me is 100% with ALL AVAILABLE UPDATES, he also stated that there were no more updates coming out for X4 and most all being sold on line now will be identical to what I received. I contacted Adam back at Softwaremedia.com and informed him of the outcome.

For what I got, the way I was treated by both companies I am in a state of shock, I have never had a better experience with an on line vendor in resolving a possible problem. If you are looking for X4 you better head to buy.com and make sure that you get your X4 from Softwaremedia.com.

I am VERY PLEASED and will do business with them in the future with no hesitation.  Bob K  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

If you want to make sure you have the latest X4 version:
Goto --> Help -> About CorelDraw
Your version should be 14.0.0.701
If it is not this number it is not upto date.

wow....it's great to hear that there are still real customer support people out there with critical thinking skills, who are willing, and able to do something other than just read a script!
