I went with pay net . Got the swap card for my iPad. List all my products. One problem is there is no ship feature. So I made ship as product with different rates. 1.59 +.25 . it works easy but will use at show. 10  a month. Probably cancel after that. Don't know if I will do future shows. Big cost. Hope made the right decision on pay net. Anyone have any info. Lou

Would a personal mifi (mobile hot spot) work for you?  I don't do many shows, but I have another life that requires me to access the internet from my laptop regardless of where I might be when the call comes - and this little gizmo works great.
Julie which one do you have,, I have lurked after them alot,,, without a purchase,, verizon and sprint are the 2 i have seen

I'm interested in knowing about the mobile hot spots too.  I'm looking at changing my cell phone and seriously considering Verizon.  I'm told the mobile hot spots work well, but we haven't used them much yet.  Mostly I'm wondering about speed.  Are they fast enough to be useful?

Sorry, Sandy Jo.  I missed your question when you posted.

I went with a Virgin Mobile MiFi.  At the time they were $40/mnth for unlimited use; now $50.  And it was $120ish for the unit at electronics store; now $150ish.  Best Buy told me to take it home and try it.  Bring it back if it didn't work. No contract and no start-up or cancellation fees.   Use it in Jan...$50...don't renew for 6 mnths...$0...then use it again...$50/mnth.    Connect several WiFi items (5 or 8?)  to run independently and simultaneously.  Stick it in your vehicle, pocket, luggage ... take it with you.

Virgin contracts with Sprint for their data connection network.  My connection is very quick.  It is a little annoying to have to go thru a couple of steps each month to authorize another month of service, but I hate long contracts so worth it to me.  I love it.

binki, so what if the sale is in the final stage and the customer ask the big question, DO U TAKE CC the cost of sale is 152.00. do u then say, to pay with cc card there is an additional 2.7% fee added or do u recalculate the cost? me personally hate additional fees, but if it's cheaper than running to a teller then i pay them or write a check.

We don't add a separate fee onto credit card orders, we just know that 30% of our orders are paid via cc so we basically take that into consideration. Everyone pays an additional 2% to cover the cost of the cc processing. We look at it like utilities. The more we are there, the higher it is so there you go.

We use SquareUp.com in our office on an Android Tablet (Toshiba Thrive) so the the client can sign the receipt on a 10" screen.  And we use others on our cell phones out in the field. The 2.75% charge with no monthly fee is great.  Clients prefer using it and we use it more than 70% of the time over checks or cash.  You just have to find whats right for your business.  Try Square Up its free (and the reader is free) so what can you loose.

Thanks for posting about the Tablet and the squareup.  I have the intuit version and I wonder if it works the same on a tablet.
