I am thinking of doing some flags, i can get the flags in either cotton or poly. My question is how long will apparel vinyl last exposed to the weather?  You think the vinyl will last as long as the flag, flags average around 2 years or so here depending on how you take care of them....

A few problems, one is weight. Depending on size it can be heavy. Second is exposure to elements and getting battered about.

They last a lot longer on sails, so I would assume they would last just as long on flags. Mind you this is just my opinion.

However, a sail is not consistently displayed, where a flag is. A sail also holds steady where a flag is battered against a pole. But it may work.
