I am pretty new to silk screening so I am not sure if there is a better way to pre coat items. I have white coasters that I screen print a base color dry then screen print the actual design. I will also be doing mouse pads. I burn a screen with the size of the item to be able to coat the item. Has anyone coated items a different way such as a paint brush? I have an example attached of a coaster I pre coated in black using the screen method

Nicely done. I know that requires a bit of work. You have the white ink laid very well.

Being lazy, I would print them with my inkjet heat transfer ink, or sublimate them.

Thank you. Once I have screen printing down I want to then incorporate heat transfer into my work flow. In the meantime this is a great place to learn more about the heat transfer technique as well as screen printing.

many of us are using multiple methods of imprinting. We will always be glad to answer any questions or send you to a web site that can give more info.

I am relatively new at screen print and used the videos produced by Ryonet to guide me.

I love my Yudu as well but want to learn ink transfer for more complicated color designs. I have just done single color screen printing so far. I get my screens at Michaels when I get 50% off coupons Smiley and I buy the speedball emulsion to keep the costs down.  Still have lots to learn but I am loving the results I get when everything works out well.
