OK....so now I need a blue ink for black shirts. Some of the opaques that I'm finding locally (yea...I need it yesterday) say "Iridescent Opaque". When I hear the word iridescent I immediately think metallic shiny.

Could somebody please school me on the definition of irridescent as it applies to screen printing ink. I'm just not seeing it in the descriptions of the inks (specifically, Jaquard and Speedball)

Thanks....this is good....I don't want a metallic, and I think I can get away with irridescent for this job. My customer realizes this even though this is a rush job, and that it's his own doing, I'm still giving him a deal on the shirts....he's given my husband a couple of really good paying gigs, so I really want to get this right! The pics are mock-ups.

 Hold me....I'm scared!

That's the thing....the only opaques I'm finding locally are irridescent opaques. I used the Versatex super opaque white on navy, and that worked. Unfortunately, Dick Blick doesn't stock the Permaset Supercover in their stores, that's an on-line only item.

Utrecht in Berkeley have the Permaset Aqua Supercover light blue in stock, and Dharma has the Jacquard Opaque blue in stock. I'm leaning toward the Permaset....any thoughts?

underbase with white before the blue to make it stand out.  Otherwise I'm afraid you will loose the baby blue look to the ink.

Good Luck!

Good Luck!

I'm using a Yudu for screen printing. So since I have only one station, what I did with white on navy last time was print/quick dry with hair dryer/print. I'm hoping that will work with the blue on black.
