So my Epson C86 will not print. I have used nearly a quarter of the new ink cartridges I just bought trying to get it to print. The WF 1100 is on sale at the Epson store and free shipping. I did find a website on how to take the C86 apart to clear clogged lines(along with some really strong sentiments about how crappy the C86 is).
So, for those of you that have the 1100, what (whose) inks are you using in them? I do not want to use this as a sublimation printer at least at this time. I do want to use pigment inks, but I am leery of the same clogging problems.
Any help, tips or suggestions is greatly appreciated. TIA

Boomer, I use INK SUPPLY ink in a CIS system and in refillable carts in every Epson printer I own..

http://www.inksupply.com/inkjet_cartridges.cfm?search_getmodel=66770

http://www.inksupply.com/heat_transfer_ink.cfm

As long as you print something, even a nozzle check each day, you don't get clogged tubes in the CIS or any clogged print head nozzles.

There are other good quality inks on the market, but I have had the most success with this brand.

So, I bit the bullet after my printer bit the dust, and I just ordered an Epson WF 1100. Directly from Epson as it was $70 off and free ground shipping - $129.99. Fortunately we do have a B&W laser printer and another Epson All in One so I can print until it arrives. I will check into other ink suppliers for the future. At least, with so many owning the 1100 there is a built in support base. And I have the option of adding an extended warranty any time during the original warranty period.
