MMM   I think that if the structure failure was a result of the rain...you will probably have coverage...make sure your contractor tells that to the adjuster..the adjuster will do an inspection and let you know..After all they have too many cases and just want to clear up an open/shut case as soon as they can...

If they do not agree...time to spend a couple buck with a property specialist attorney

Well first let me apologize to Rock I was at the hospital when I was supposed to be picking up her Mug Press. I have talked to Tony and will pick it up tomorrow. I have concluded that you are just bad luck (just kidding) LOL. Grin

Now for what happened, I have all the parts back for our new motorcycle that I have been building for my son. He was planning to ride it this evening so I was rushing around to get it done for him. In my haste I was picking it up to put on the stand and slipped on some spilled something or another and down I went with the motorcycle on top of me. when I finally got out from under it and got up I couldn't move my arm. Luckily just cracked the bone in my elbow and have to wear a sling for a couple days. They say I should be able to move it tomorrow or the next day and it will just be sore for a while. If you think I was slow at typing before you should see me now. Grin I am also mad that I can't tell a big war story of how I was Racing Michael and did a big flip or something kind of embarrassing that I just fell down. Grin

Sorry Rock but I will get there tomorrow and I will call you tomorrow.

So sorry to hear about your elbow, Dad. I hope your wife was more sympathetic than I was when my hubby hurt his elbow a few months ago. This should make you feel a little better:

He's sitting in the garage watching the ball game....it's a warm evening, and he's got the big door open. Of course, a fly comes in, and he jumps out of his chair to chase the fly out (like it was flock of bats or something), takes off running in his stocking feet, and when he goes from carpet to concrete floor, he slips, flies up in the air, and lands on his elbow.

Now remember, he's a musician. He's laying on the ground in pain, and I'm standing over him, so pissed, saying "damn it. I've told you don't break the money makers! If you're gonna hurt something....from the waist down only. You don't make any money with anything from the waist down. Don't break the money makers". Luckily, his arm wasn't broken.

"Don't break the money makers" would make a great TeeShirt!
Dad, no worries - I still think at least in my world (masters degree from MSU, a part of WhatsMataU), you can STILL say that you broke it riding or embellish this story - its ALL about the story.

What a great bunch of folks. Thanks to all!!!! DeChez, at least your husband can sing to you. My poor wife has to put up with a house full of idiots. A son who is usually 40 or 50 feet in the air, a husband that encourages the idiocies.

 Cool MMM,

I'm not in the area but was passing thru to a friends cabin on Upper Red Lake last fall after my Dad's funeral. Needed some down time alone with the wife. Went thru downtown and saw your place and remembered the realty across the street.

As far as your roof, with the clog in the drain, the internal structure damage along with any water damage should be covered. Hopefully you have a good well established company and a good relationdship with your agent, that is 3/4 the battle. I don't see how anyone could see that any other way.

If in fact you had 1000 gallons on the roof that would be a combined weight of @ 4 1/4 tons of water!  That is more than a fully fueled crew cab F350 with all seats filled. I would see how you can have some damage to the structure.

If I get back in the area sometime I will look you up and say Hi. Cool Cool

I do feel for your wife. She's probably experienced wondering what happened to that other potato she was going to use for dinner, only to find you and the kids using it for a hockey puck.

Update
Water is off our roof,,,  the builder went into the attic and we have no dry rot .

We have multiple cracked trusses....from the weight of the water that was on the roof.
they are recomending pulling the roof off. and working from above..to repair the damage to the trusses.

Now it is in the adjuster and the contractors hands.
and it is raining,, but flowing thru the sewer pipes like it is supposed too,.
