Anyone have a formula for calculating the charge one would make to cut vinyl for another industry colleague?
For instance, if I cut 1 image that is aprox 15 x 7 and weed...what would be considered a reasonable charge?

I haven't figured it before...but I would probably take a look at Roger's vinyl calculator and try to figure something based off those numbers.  Those calculators have really come in handy!

In the past i have charged, and been charged,,,  per foot,, and as long as my vinyl,,
Say Roger weed at 20 inches,,

so a 12 x 20 inch,,

$7.00  so i tell them to find images in that color or saying they want and fill it up,,

But i have not done this for a few years,,

I assume the price would also depend on who does the weeding.

Agreed.  I would charge less if I just cut for someone than if I cut and weeded.

MMM, I try and not post wholesale charges on the open forums.  You never know when your customer might see what you've posted and then either demand that price, or go to your competitor with your wholesale price to get them to match it.

PM me if you want to know pricing please.  Grin

We price by size, quantity, complexity and value to the customer.

For one offs we charge a flat $18 and that includes the shirt with a front and back, Vinyl or DTG printing. Our lowest price is over 100 units at $5.50 for gildan 2000's with a 1 color print in one location.

For single images cut we start at $8 for up to 12" square.

The bulk of our apparel vinyl is 15 inch but sometimes we purchase 24 or 30 inch and cut the 30 down to 24.

We try to sneak in 2 up cutting so with a 15 inch roll we try to make our images 7 inches in one direction so if someone wants a design that is 12x8 we try to change it so we can cut 2 up on the 15 inch roll and cut our cost of materials in half.
