What kind was your router and why were you messing with it every day. Granted I live in the country but after I have set them up I haven't touched them again. Anyhoo, glad that you found something that worked for ya.

Did your renters by chance have access to where the router was setting?

Mischievious little mutts, huh. Grin If they could get anywhere near it all you have to do to reset it is stick a pin in a little whole and reset it. If they are taking computer science in school they know how to hack into it. The good thing is they could care less about your graphic files they wanted free internet. I always recomend that if you don't want it seen or bothered don't connect it to the internet. Have a seperate computer for sensitive wrok and financial stuff, if it's not connected it can't be hacked, if it is it can. There is an old adage with computer geeks, if you can see me, The I can see you and I can hack in. Grin

yep,, that is what they wanted,, was free acess,,,,,

The issue with resetting it,, is it defaulted back to unsecure,,

but all is good,, it is a done deal,, if they can figure out how to connect now, to my wired router,, well then they deserve to use it for free....lol...

Just had to make it a lil harder for them,, they are good kids,,, just not crazy about sharing access with em,,,,

Kids,,,,,,!!

Yep that's what they do is reset it to factory which is unsecure. Tha realy doesn't give them access to your computer though. Just your internet, unless you have sharing set on your computer for networking. They're just monkey's having fun.
