MMM,

How you described it is exactly how it feels to me.

I know things and some of what I know is because my company sells the products it sells.  When I give advice,  it's to be of help first.  If that advice also inspires someone to buy something,  that's awesome,  but that's not why the help was offered.

I think genuine friendliness and a desire to assist others will always come through.  If you're always pushing to sell yourself,  you'll find others will stop buying pretty quickly, at least that's what I've always thought.

I'm glad I've been able to share some helpful information here.  I appreciate the opportunity to do so.

Sandy Jo....you are so right. A couple days ago on another forum, there was conversation about a software package for a guy in UK....I mentioned that since Canada was in the commonwealth, maybe he could contact SignMax for Winpcsign2010....then another person recommended a site that also sells the product that happens to be friend of the poster (I believe) and since they were making recommendations, I suggested Roger's site...even though I also sell the product...I did not want to self promote. Long story short...that post was removed because 'Roger and I were partners' and that was self promoting. (If Roger and I are partners, someone has been getting my share of his sales!..)The same thought was also suggested by the owner of the forum...Of course I replied and told them why I posted...but then...I guess one can consider I got my hands slapped....go figure...depends on who and the whim of others

Of course 'they' also monitor this forum...so I will get a double slap...please note I have not mentioned any names or any forum name!

The way it looks to me as the rate this forum membership is growing that the school yard bully may be a bit humbled at some point in time...

Smiley  IMHO Great List of "Honored Members"!  I appreciate all the information from everyone, MMM has got to be OK in my book being from my home!  Binki - haven't heard that name since December 26, 2000 at my Mothers Funeral Service, her nickname known to all was Bink or Binki depending on who it was! Just the name brought a tear to my eye thinking of her! MX, Ive gleaned a lot of info from you that has helped me in many ways at work and such. Everyone else contributes above and beyond.

Without Question though Lou you still are riding on top no matter what ya say! THANK YOU for the Site!!

Now maybe when or should I say IF I grow up I may learn to be a T Shirt embroidaheatransvinylplastisol-a layeringfooldecorator if there is such a thing.

Thank you EVERYONE!!  Wink

Shame on them. You are only allowed to promote by proxy if you are a mod over there. Their mods do it all the time. Rodney should be ashamed of himself for allowing this kind of crap. So you know Roger and now you are a partner??? I know  Rodney does that mean he is my partner. I am waiting for the checks?? Guys when they do this and then promote someone else that sells the same thing (as their mods do) then that is called unfair competition act and Rodney and his mods are setting them selves up for a law suite. Also those associated with them like their magazine publisher. Out of my lawyers mouth to your ears. Their rules only apply to members not their mods. Did you know mods are employees of the forum.

Maddening Isn't It?

Once again I should keep my big mouth shut, I just can't. Grin I went to the TShirt Forum when I was looking for a place to learn this industry and I never signed up because of their egotistical and arrogant attitudes toward newbies. Since I am not a member there and never will be, they can't spank me. At 55 years old I think I have outgrown childish spankings anyway. Though my mother still handles that very well. Grin My personal view, and it is my personal view and has nothing to do with this forum, is that they should come over and sign up here. They might learn how to run their forum with respect and treat folks with a little dignity. Over the past weeks and even the past couple month's I have noticed New folks coming on board here and start joining in the conversations and even ask the questions that like all of us are churning in their mind and need an answer. I have even seen members that have been signed up for awhile start to join in and participate. My friends that is what a forum is designed to be. No one should have to be afraid to ask a question or voice an opinion in an open forum. We do live in a country with freedom of speech. We don't always agree with each other but we all have opinions and we should and do respect that here. Now as for self promotion, I agree that someone coming on board and advertising their wares beligerantly and never having any positive input to the forum, well it's not really self promotion it is cheesy advertising IMHO. For those members that put so much into this industry, Like Charles, Lou, Roger, MMM, Rhinestonecowgirl, German13, and I am sorry I can't rmember them all, that offer some of the best and highest quality products available to our industry, there is nothing wrong with letting folks know that you offer them if they are looking for that type product. I would rather purchase quality and integraty from my friend than junk from someone just pushing products for their own personal gain. I don't think the rest of us will be self promoting, I don't think anyone here is looking to buy decorated apparel are you? Grin As for the TShirt Forum members come on over and sign up on the Greatest Forum on the Planet. The Apparel Decorators Forum. You will get to be involved in learning the busines as well as integraty, respect, and just all around good business practice. There I said it now try to spank me. Grin Shooo long winded this morning, sorry.
