Hey,
What does everyone do with all the dongles we get with sofware,,
I would like to keep one that i use with me at work and then at home and i am so afraid of losing it,,
Right now i have it on a seperate key chain than my reg key chain,
I am wondering if i should make a beaded necklace, and incorporate it,,
?
Anyone have any ideas?
It saved my life today,, as I had a image that if i could vectorize it at work and get the proof to the client i could make the sale today,,
I did,,
4x4 banner,,, lots of vinyl,, $225.00
got the order,,
so ordered the vinyl and banner today as well.
yipppeee I could not have done this without my dongle and my wnsignpc2010 for vectorzing,, and node editing,,,,

Hello, first response to anyone. Yeah Im shy.

I do exactly that, put the ones that go with me on something around my neck. The ones that I keep at home stay in a small box near the computers. Has saved my bones many times.

Welcome Turbo,
Thanks for responding, I am so worried I am going to loose these lil things, and if we do I understand that we have to pay a pretty good replacement fee..

If i could just leave them in one place or another it would be ok,,
well good to know others have em around there neck,, I think i will make a nice Swarovski AB necklace and attach the one i use the most, to take back and forth with me,

Yep I have made jewelry for years,, so this is not biggy,,

anybody else have ideas,,
and Welcome Turbo,,
Now what all do you do?

Well I don't tote a purse but I have had two of them clipped on my truck key ring for over a year with no damage.

Yep, it's a flash drive thingy that must be plugged in & recognized for certain softwares to work.  (I'm also computer stupid, I'm sure there's a better description and someone will chime up with it.)

I toted my dongle back & forth between home & work for awhile, but thought I lost it a couple of times and nearly had a heart attack.  Now they stay plugged in at work all the time.  That's a huge pain in the rump at times.  I keep my store keys on a lanyard - wondered about putting dongles on there...  But I lose EVERYTHING.  I could fill pages on all the times I've lost my purse or billfold, though they are usually miraculously returned intact.  Even when I left them sitting on a bench in the middle of the mall during Christmas shopping season....and didn't miss them until an hour later when I saw a security guard walking with my friend toward me swinging, um, my purse!

Would it be possible to print your phone number on it, so if lost and then found by some person, it could be returned to you.

We put a small tag on ours, so I
remember what is on them.
So you could do the same with a phone number.

I keep my ACS one plugged in all of the time.  When I'm not using my Funtime dongle, it's in my top desk drawer.

Another thing to remember is that these dongles are known to come apart if you're constantly pulling them out of USB ports. OR they can break if something heavy falls on them or they get knocked sideways when you're moving your laptop around.  Thus, you might want to think about buying an inexpensive adaptor and plugging the dongle into the adaptor. Not only does it provide some protection for the dongle, but it also makes the overall device larger and a little more difficult to lose. I really like this particular Belkin one because it bends in a lot of different angles and I had a customer who said that a heavy book fell from a shelf above her computer and hit the dongle on the way down, but the Belkin collapsed and saved the dongle.
