Ok I am back and Boy Did i learn a lot yesterday,,
I have alot of info to post, about car wraps,,
I also have a dvd,,, of wrapping cars from oracle, if i can figure out how to put that in my computer,, and then send to lou,, for the video area i will,, any suggestions would be helpful..

I have the info for the right kind of product to use at home i will post tonight as well,, for boat wraps or cars,,

I did learn for a car you use a vinyl, that has air holes in the back of the vinyl, so all the air bubbles come out,,

With a boat,, you do not use this,, and again i will give the exact vinyl and numbers for those that need it,,
we wrapped a truck in treebark camo,,

it was awesome this vinyl you heat the vinyl with a heat gun and it turns into a pliable vinyl that stretches and goes over curves and molding,, it was awesome,

You prep the vech, with ispropyl 70 % achohol.
We apply the vinyl on dry,,
You use a Teflon sqeegee as it flows better,over the vinyl

The vinyl was printed on a mutoh, printer and then laminated .

The person giving the demo, crinkled up the vinyl and hit it with a heat gun and all the crinkles came out ,,,

This vinyl is repositionable,, we put in ton, we took it off, we put it on,, we took it off,, and it kept on sticking like crazy,, never leaveing a issue with the tackyness to the truck.

A vech warp the least expensive will go for a small car for $3000.00

The car should always sit in a heated garage for at least 24 hours before giving to the customer,, as the glue starts to work once it sits on the vech, and needs 24 hours to cure into the surface..
8 hours in the sun is preferred

YOu can not wrap textured plastic,,
You can wrap fiberglass, and plastic as long as they are painted surfaces,,, Did i tell you we had fun? alot of fun!

So if you have a flat say plastic bug guard you need to paint it ,as this vinyl sticks to the paint surface

That vinyl with the airholes in the back let the bubbles just smooth rigght out,, no pins needed to pop them.

We went into the seminar thinking we would never want to do a wrap,,,
we came out, ready to wrap our 4 wheeler and  boat,, and allis chamler tractor,, and out 82 jeep cj, and parts of my husbands truck,
as well as our duck hunting boats,, lol

We also learned and recieved a ton of color charts for all the oracle and fdc and 3m vinyl, as well as thermoplus.

We learned how to tape banners,, as my husband wants to do that,,
there was no demo for this so we just asked and the next thing we had a demo going,,

There was alot of printing on canvas with the mutoh,,

I found out 641 oracle is a water based glue on the back , where 651 is a solvent based glue,,

The poeple at Signs plus banners very very good hosts and were truley there to share info and teach us.

There was a rep there for Graphtec, and i wear,, yep rhinestones , they had a computer set up, with the program, and no one was manning it,,
i got my hands on it, and opened the program,,, to my surprise it looked just like ACS,
I asked 2 poeple questions, and not one knew any answers,,, so i tried on my own, and i think that the program was not set up just a visual, as you could do nothing with it,, that was a dissappointment
but i was amazed it seemed to be a stripped down version of ACS.as far as i could see..
I was ready to purchase it , if it was something different,, to play with.
It would have been great to have that set up and ready to play with,,

They also had alienskin set up and that was very similiar to the 3d effects xara has, so i moved on,,,
but had fun anyway,,,,

I will post the oracle info tonight when i get back home,,

Roger,, i thought so,,  I saw a lot missing,, ,but the only thing i noticed different was a area under transform that said instead of spacing,, it said rhinestone spacing, lol

This is some of the info i received

Complex applications : full vechicle wrap with challenging complex curves
Recommended media would be Orajet seris 3951 and laminate oraguard series 290 or 290F or 293

Simple applications: Wraps with simple curves corrugations and rivets including pickups and box trucks and trailers
Recommende media Orajet 3551
Laminate Oraguard 293,290, 290F

Marine applications Extreme Environment boats and watercraft
Orajet 3951
laminate oraguard 290

Motosports, snowmobliles , helmets
 same as Complex applicatons

With these products there  is a Commandform or RapidAir,
The Rapid Air is the product with the air holes on the back side of the finyl with reduces bubbles and creases. When squeegeing this product air bubbles ecsape out the underside.
The Commandform product is for ultra smooth surfaces,, and more demanding applications.

MMM, with your energy you should be able to wrap a semi truck all by yourself in just a couple of hours!

Seriously, thanks for sharing the info.  I've thought about learning to do wraps before, but in my area most vehicles don't even cost that much!

At this show they were willing to let us newbies attach this truck, with vinyl and had no worries, so we went for it,,
