Life is a Circle, Never take more than you Give!

WWW
« on: December 11, 2009, 11:06:34 PM »

Well today the Ups man brought me my new YUDU,
I am so pumped,, finally a way to burn screens in the winter,, woohoo
The burn area is very large and i will measure at a later date as i am drying a screen to ink right now

This unit has a exposure unit,, a dryer and a single press area..
I wanted it mainly for the exposure unit, as soon as i am done drying my screen and ink it I will post a pic,
I did a really complex image my son made for me for my Birthday in November,  a Monkey MeMe image.. wohooooo

I am using capillary film from Ryonet, so i have not chemicals,,
I have always used water based ink,, so no chemicals cleaning my screens,
I can also use the enviro strip for relaiming my screens as well, no chemicals,,
I like that,,
Well gotta run and get my screen it is done,,

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but even the soy based cleaners still have chemicals in them, just less harsh chemicals.  If they didn't have some sort of chemical in them at all you would be able to just reclaim screens and clean screens with simple H20.

Have fun with your YUDU!  It's always nice to get a new toy to play with! Grin

oh my gosh,, i am in love,, i have been burning my screens in the sun, which is really limiting to me up here in the North,,
This Image burned , awesome like i said i did not start basic, i went for a nasty font, my son found off dafont .com for me,,

I do have pics to post in a lil bit,,

also the process will let me burn a screen in 8 minutes,, it was perfect..

if you watch the ryonet with ryan, you tube video, he shows you have to adjust the machine to use reg screens,,

That is my plan for multi color, is to burn on this unit, and take tees to the bigger press, for registration,,

but for this one color, last night i was up playing untill 3am,  I would have keep going but , this design was for me,, and i did not need more garments, lol but i wanted too,, i was thinking  totes,, sweats,,

ok, I used my reg ink, as that is what i am used to,, as the Yudu ink seems rubbery ,,, might have been old

I use permaset and speedball..

booger,, yeah, i am sure there are still chem,, i just feel i am doing the best i can do to keep them at a lower percentage,, I did not wear gloves last night, at all.

Now i have not reclaimed my screen from last night,,

but I did the first one i did, which i put the capillary film on wrong,, i got bubbles,,  so after i had dried that i reclaimed that with hot water...

So far i have only used cold water to rinse out screens and hot water to reclaim the first screen.

ok gotta run get my christmas tree up, i will post pics later,,

Hello Everybody,
I saw commercial demonstrating the YUDU and it looks awesome to learn how to do. It's somehting that you can make quick money from when you need transfer papers and inks for the heatpress machine. I don't think it would fit my needs, (speaking only for myself) to make this my main equipment to use for garments all the time. But I decided to buy it when I get back to work and receive me a check. I realize i can't go in to the garment business thinking I am in it to make millions. I just want to make some money to make ends meet. Hey maybe i can make ends meet all the time to the point I can retire early and make just a little bit more than working at the hospital.
Well, I like to dream Smiley
Anyway just wanted to vent.

Michelle,
The yudu, is  a screen printing machine,, all in one, a screen dryer, a exposure unit, and a one color one shirt screen press.

If i were you and you are just starting out,,my own opinion is,, I would get a cutter first,, and then screen printing stuff..

I love this lil unit, but i got it on my list of stuff after 2 cutters,, as they are around the same investment but I can do so many things with my cutters,,
The Yudu for me rounds me out more, not that I have alot of other machines,,

So put one on your list, but get what you need first to make your garments,, and your biggest return,
Now if you get a order in for 200 shirts,,   go get one,

Charles,
I just went on youtube to watch demo videos of YUDU and to my surprise it is a process that I really don't have time for. I thought about buying it now to create different outfits for my grand-daughter. Get plain T-shirts, hats, jeans, sweat pants at wholesale prices and make her a ton of new outfit never seen in stores. Maybe even my daughter her mother might create stuff for her too. May this might not be what I am looking for but it might turn out to be something that can bring in something else. But i will not use it for big dream.

ok here come the pics,
My son made this design for me for my birthday in November,, at our house things that are made from the heart and with our hands , are extremely special,  He has always teased me about MonkeyMeMe, so when I saw this gift he had made for me,, It went straight to my Heart.

I used his colors for these first shirts, as i wanted to have them remain his design, but now ,, it is time to beef it up,, once he sees me wearing these..
I have a ton of ideas,, for this design in colors of stones and ink,,

I used speedball, ink
110 screen
capillary film from ryonet as it is way cheaper than the yudu stuff
I have already reclaimed my transfer sheet for another image, which you just wash with water,,

so what have I learned,, a ton,,
I dont like Yudu ink,
I can buy emulsion capillary film cheaper from ryonet
I can buy reg screens and burn image to them using a reg press

the biggest think i found is when you flood a screen you are basically coating it , not pushing the ink thru,, when using a press of any kind,

when i was screening before, i did it on a table, and when i flooded the screen it was always on garment for 2 passes,,

with a press on only need one pass,,

well that is the beginning of me and YUDU
and I think we will have a wonderful relationship,

Do I think this unit would replace a 4 press or 6 press?
or multi color , No but i would use the exposure unit in it to burn all the screens

would i be afraid to do , 50 -100 tees on this,, nope, in heart beat,, 1 or 2 colors..

You can also make extra platens from coruplast but put a extra piece under the  one you made to raise it up a bit,,
as you want to keep you tee on a form untill the ink dries, so it does not go thru the shirt.

I cured my water base in my heat press like i always do, I have some shirts from a year ago, that have not budged color at all like this, with water based ink.

MonkeyMeMe,
You just got this unit and you have so many things to tell us what to do and what not to do with the YuDu. You are a fast learner. I am glad you are having fun with it.
